Postcards From Tahoe

Long before Postcards From Tahoe became a wine collection, it began with

a simple feeling — the excitement of receiving a postcard in the mail.

As a young boy spending summers at camp on Cape Cod during the 1960s,

the founder eagerly waited for letters and postcards from his grandparents.

Each card carried more than just a picture of a beautiful place — it carried

warmth, connection, and the feeling that someone was thinking about you

from somewhere special. Scenic coastlines, handwritten notes, faded colors,

and stamped corners became treasured keepsakes tucked away for years.

Those memories stayed with him long after childhood.

Decades later, after building a life in Napa Valley and spending years in the wine industry, he found himself standing along the shores of Lake Tahoe during a different season of life. The crystal water, towering pines, granite boulders, and glowing sunsets brought back those same emotions — nostalgia, wonder, and the powerful connection between places and memories.

But the true defining moment happened one evening while sitting at Uncorked wine bar in Truckee, talking wine with Kate, the woman behind the bar. The conversation drifted toward Tahoe, travel, memories, and the emotional connection people have with places they love. At one point, she casually said something simple that changed everything: “What if you could bottle those memories?”

In that instant, the idea clicked.

Not just wine.
Not just labels.
But a collection of moments people could hold onto.

That night, Postcards From Tahoe was born. The vision became clear: to create wines that feel like memories you can bring home, or send "Postcard From Tahoe" to loved ones, like days gone by.

Each bottle in the collection is inspired by an iconic Tahoe scene — places locals treasure and visitors never forget. Designed like vintage postcards from another era, the labels celebrate the timeless beauty of Lake Tahoe while honoring the emotions tied to travel, family, friendship, and discovery.

These wines are meant to be shared around campfires, lakeside dinners, ski weekends, summer vacations, and meaningful conversations — then kept as reminders of a place that stays with you long after you leave.

Because some places are too beautiful to forget. And some memories deserve to be "Uncorked."

Emerald Bay

Emerald Bay is often considered the crown jewel of Lake Tahoe — a place so breathtaking that first-time visitors frequently stop in silence just to take it all in. Surrounded by towering pines, granite cliffs, and crystal-clear blue water, the bay feels almost untouched by time. At its center sits the iconic Fannette Island, adding to the bay’s storybook beauty and making it one of the most photographed places in all of California. People are drawn to Emerald Bay not only for its dramatic scenery, but for the feeling it creates — peaceful, nostalgic, romantic, and unforgettable. Like a perfect glass of rosé at sunset, Emerald Bay has a way of slowing time and becoming a memory people carry with them forever.

Sand Harbor

With its crystal-clear water, sculpted granite boulders, and towering pines, Sand Harbor captures the pure beauty that has made Lake Tahoe legendary for generations. Located along Tahoe’s breathtaking East Shore, this iconic destination is loved for its peaceful coves, glowing turquoise shoreline, and unforgettable sunsets that seem almost painted by hand. Whether discovered on a summer afternoon or remembered years later through a photograph or postcard, Sand Harbor leaves visitors with the feeling that they’ve experienced one of the most beautiful places in America.

From the Napa Valley comes the owners favorite wine (from one of his favorite vineyards). We chose the Napa Valley for our TAHOE RESERVE CABERNET SAUVIGNON. 

From Selected Vineyards around the state, we curated a Cabernet Sauvignon so rich, and deliscious, that it can rival many wines at 3 to 5 times the price!
